SPEECH SERVER ATTENDANT OVERVIEW
Mobility Application
The Speech Server Attendant allows users to redirect
calls to the phone number of their choice, extending their
ability to be reached outside the office. Users can
forward calls to home, office, mobile, a temporary
number in their profile or the number from which they
are calling. Users can set up a schedule for forwarding
calls through the web or a phone.
Toll Management Solution
The Speech Server Attendant features advanced speaker
verification that logs in users based on voice signatures,
which are virtually impossible to reproduce. It regulates
access to long distance services with various levels of
security for each user. Security options include: internal,
local, long distance, and international.

The Speech Server Attendant administrator can program a per-user account code to prefix the
outbound call. This improves the call accounting information by allowing the administrator to
track the calls of the user or group depending on the account code entered.
Supports integration to Microsoft Active Directory Integration for unified Directory
management. This feature will also enable Attendant users to voice enable their MS Outlook
contact lists for speech dialing.
The Speech Server Attendant can be accessed by telephone modem for remote maintenance
and administration functions.
A built-in text-to-speech engine allows the Speech Server Attendant to synthesize the
directory name of any name not yet recorded.
The Speech Server Attendant is a Windows 2000 system. Corporate directories are available in
50-name increments and can grow to 10,000 names (each with up to five numbers). Personal
directory numbers are offered in increments of 50 to a maximum of 500 names per user. The
system is available with up to 30 ports.
The Speech Server Attendant has a bilingual option that supports multiple languages and is
available in English/French and English/Spanish versions. The language can be changed at any
time during the prompts.
The Speech Server Attendant supports different levels of confidence set by the administrator.
On a high-confidence interpretation of a name, the Speech Server Attendant server will act
upon the command without confirming with the user. If the confidence of the system is
medium or low, the server asks the user if the spoken name has been correctly interpreted.
The Speech Server Attendant corporate directory expands to 10,000 names providing the
scalability required to support larger installations and growing companies.
The administrator can define pronunciation for words and names with which the Speech
Server Attendant may not be familiar.
The Speech Server Attendant allows callers to query the system as to what departments are
available for dialing or speaking.
The Speech Server Attendant can answer authorized user queries for telephone numbers, and
can dial the number after playing it for the caller.
